Cookeville council votes: reappointments, contracts, water projects and equipment purchases (July 3, 2025)

At its July 3 meeting the Cookeville City Council approved a series of reappointments, appointments, contracts, and capital projects. Most motions passed unanimously by voice vote (5-0).

Notable outcomes included: reappointment of Eric Cherry to the Environmental Appeals Board; appointment of Megan Atkinson to the Historic Zoning Commission; approval of minutes from the June 19 meeting; approval of a multi-item consent agenda (vehicle and equipment purchases, scheduling of a rezoning public hearing); transfer of the remaining Monterey contribution of $11,327.68 to the Tennessee Central Rail Trail Authority; approval of an ERP consulting change order increasing the not-to-exceed amount by $12,000 to a total of $99,000; authorization for a four-year Axon evidence and auto-tagging contract (total $33,500, year-1 $8,514.32); authorization to contract with Motorola for Smart Connect and a radio warranty extension ($16,934.55 for 85 devices); approval of five additional Curex Vision AI systems ($77,693); approval of Change Order No. 2 for the water treatment plant expansion (net increase $86,904.45 and 44 added days); award of the Green Acre Subdivision waterline replacement contract to Lehi Construction ($617,822); and approval to purchase a 2025 Mack roll-off sanitation truck ($230,192.87).
