East Montgomery landowner opposes water-park funding, cites unmet needs

"Primarily that I am here to pose my opposition to the funding of a water park in Montgomery," Brown said, and then listed priorities he said are unaddressed: senior services, food and housing insecurity, homelessness, senior recreation and skills programs, transportation, and persistent trash and debris problems in parts of the county. He said residents pay taxes and questioned how those tax dollars are being spent.
Brown highlighted specific traffic and safety concerns near Ware's Ferry Road and Atlanta Highway and at the intersection near U.S. 80, saying intersections present backups and poor interstate access. He urged commissioners to reconsider the water-park funding and prioritize spending on services he said serve East Montgomery County taxpayers.
The commission did not take action on the public comment; the speaker’s remarks were heard as part of the public-comment period.
