Commissioners set Nov. 4 election order and early‑voting locations, extend final two days to 7 a.m.–7 p.m.

At a regular session of the Henderson County Commissioners Court, the court approved the order of a special election for Nov. 4, covering constitutional amendments to be placed on the ballot. Miss Lekky, representing elections staff, said there are currently 17 proposed amendments and the county may amend the order later if the state special session changes the ballot.

Elections staff told the court that early‑voting locations include the elections office, First Methodist Church in Chandler, the LaRue Complex and Gunbarrel City Hall (the West Side). Gunbarrel City Hall will serve as an early‑voting site because another previously used location remains under construction. The court was told there will be extended hours — 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. — on the last two days of early voting; no weekend voting is required for this election.

The court discussed logistical details for contracted cities and school districts that need early‑voting schedules for their July meetings. Commissioner McCam moved and Commissioner Richardson seconded the motion to approve the order of election as presented; the motion passed unanimously.

The order adopted actions needed to notify and coordinate with municipalities and schools; elections staff noted the ballot count may change if the state special session adds or removes amendments. The court did not set any additional special‑session contingency other than noting it may amend the order if required.
