The City Council authorized staff to submit an application for Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant monies of up to $6 million for the proposed Greenfield Park and Recreation development project.
A staff presentation described the grant’s eligible uses — outdoor recreational features, parking, lighting and landscaping — and said the award would help cover rising development costs driven by inflation. Staff advised council the grant requires a minimum 50% local match and that the city could use Prop 68 funds as the match. Staff recommended adoption of Resolution 2025‑62 to approve submission of the application.
No public commenters spoke against the application and councilmembers moved and seconded the resolution. The council adopted the resolution by unanimous voice vote and authorized staff to proceed with the grant application.
If awarded, the grant would fund construction‑phase development elements; the city would need to confirm matching funds and follow the LWCF application and grant‑administration requirements.
