Operations staff said they have been mowing continuously and noted that some weeds in the seed mix were intended to hold soil in place. The far side of the runway and taxiway experienced washout after rain in some places; staff reported they are mowing areas with established grass and that the mower will be greased and the hydraulic steering repaired this weekend. Discussion included the availability of a roll and questions about hitch adapters for pulling equipment across the street.
Staff also discussed July 4 fireworks activity: they noted shuttle operations, areas where spectators gathered outside the fence and vehicle tracks across the site; staff said they may need a volunteer or donation team to help manage the increased use in future years.
