County staff and the clerk reviewed proposed lease-transfer and assignment language for property currently occupied by Community Partners. Staff said the updated transfer language will highlight rent increases tied to the Consumer Price Index and will explicitly address how utility costs โ which are not covered by a separate meter โ will be estimated and paid.
Staff said the original lease dates from about 35 years ago; the proposed transfer and extension package will include the key terms from the original lease so parties do not need to locate archival documents. Commissioners indicated support for inserting explicit CPI-rent language and for clarifying estimated utility compensation and voted to move forward with the transfer.
Staff said the contact at Community Partners is on vacation and that the county will finalize the transfer once the organization returns. No detailed dollar amounts beyond the estimated utility compensation arrangement were set at the meeting; staff said an estimated charge for electricity is handled as revenue to the county.
