Committee roundup: St. Clair County committees forward grants, appointments and infrastructure items

St. Clair County committee meetings advanced a range of routine administrative and infrastructure items across Human Services, Judiciary/Public Safety, Environmental/Public Works, Community & Economic Development and Ways and Means.

Key actions at committee level included: sending the advisory board of health bylaws revisions to the full board; forwarding the 2026 Veteran Affairs service fund grant application and a library-board appointment; receiving and filing health department "points of interest" and packets; forwarding multiple grant agreements and plan updates from Judiciary/Public Safety (including 2024 Operation Stone Garden, an emergency management plan update, inmate tablets and a 2025 marine safety grant); Environmental/Public Works approval to send asphalt seal-coating and striping, an aeronautics advisory board appointment and an administrative consent agreement for final action; and Community & Economic Development approval to issue an RFP for an economic and community-development assessment.

Ways and Means approved several items for full-board consideration or final action, including a sheriff's office chiller replacement contract, Land Bank Authority appointments, Bluewater Convention Center parking-lot repairs and a courthouse elevator electrical work change order (final action).
