Commission OKs 30-day extension for Oakwood Trails master plan review

The Planning, Development and Zoning Commission voted 6-0 to grant a 30-day extension for review of the Oakwood Trails master plan, which the applicant submitted to serve also as a preliminary plat.
Staff said the applicant requested additional time to refine variance requests and to meet with staff to clarify review comments. Staff recommended the extension under the applicable Texas Local Government Code provisions so the matter can be acted on before May 27, 2025. A commissioner asked what would happen if the commission did not approve the extension; staff replied that, in that case, the commission would need to take final action to deny the plan or act within the statutory timeline, otherwise the application could be approved by operation of law.
A motion to grant the 30-day extension passed unanimously, 6-0.
The applicant will return within the extension period with revised materials and any adjusted variance requests for commission consideration.
