Chino council adopts corrected refuse and recycling rates for FY 2025-26

The Chino City Council on May 20 approved Resolution 2025-020 to set refuse and recycling service rates for fiscal year 2025-26, correcting a clerical omission in the residential ancillary service table to add contamination and overage fees.
Sylvia Ramos, contracts and Development Impact Fee administrator, explained the fees were included in the Proposition 218 notice and the adopted five-year rate schedule but were inadvertently left out of the initial resolution table. Both fees are subject to the standard 4% annual increase under the city's existing waste-management franchise agreement, Ramos said.
Councilmember Lucio moved to approve the corrected resolution, Councilmember Comstock seconded, and the motion passed 4-0 with the mayor absent. Staff said the corrected rate table was provided to the council and highlighted for reference; staff recommended approval to maintain accuracy and transparency with rate-setting materials.
The resolution takes effect July 1, 2025.
