The Colonial School District Board of Education on Feb. 20 approved a slate of routine items including meeting minutes, financial reports, personnel recommendations and several budgets and travel requests.
Board members voted to approve meeting minutes listed as items 3b through 3gs, the financial reports for January 2024 identified as items 4b through 4m and the January 2025 treasurer's report. The board also approved the personnel report and extracurricular contracts presented as items 7b and 7c; board discussion noted approvals are conditioned on presentation of valid credentials, verification of employment documentation and state-mandated requirements.
In new-business motions, the board approved the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit (MCIU) membership services budget for 2025–26, budgets and payments for spring productions at Plymouth White Marsh High School and Colonial Middle School and authorized the director of technology to attend the Consortium for School Networking (COSN) conference in Seattle from March 31 through April 2, 2025.
Most motions were moved and seconded with brief procedural discussion and the chair calling for the voice vote; no roll-call tallies were provided in the minutes. The agenda included attachments for school activity accounts, athletic activity accounts, building and curriculum reports and a technology report.
The approvals keep routine operations and planned student activities on schedule and allow staff professional-development travel to proceed. The board did not identify any contingent funding sources or outstanding conditions beyond the credential and verification language attached to personnel actions.
