Montgomery County names Officer Bell Community Corrections Employee of the Year

The Montgomery County Commission recognized Officer Bell as the Community Corrections Employee of the Year at its Oct. 1, 2025 meeting.
Director Harris, of the county—community corrections division, introduced the recognition and said Officer Bell—was singled out for "his daily performance, leadership, ability and influence among his peers," and for a transition from mental health counselor to certified law enforcement officer that demonstrates "commitment to the people within the community." Director Harris said Bell "displayed a high level of confidence" and maintained professionalism while serving as a dedicated employee.
The chair and commissioners offered congratulations. Commissioner Cassandra described corrections and sheriff—staff as "silent heroes" and thanked them for public safety service. No formal action or funding change accompanied the recognition; it was presented as an acknowledgment by the commission.
