Library staff outline October–November programs including baby silent-disco and interactive book boxes

The Colony Public Library presented a schedule of upcoming programs for late October into November.
Library presenter Miss Charters said story time is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:15 a.m. The library will hold a baby 'silent disco' — a lights-and-bubbles sensory event for 2- and 3-year-olds — on Friday, Oct. 31. Art Club kits for preschool, youth and adults will be available; this month’s kits are inspired by the work of children’s illustrator Eric Carle with registration beginning Monday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. The library plans interactive book boxes (one title each for adults, young adults, juveniles and tweens) with registration beginning Monday, Nov. 17 at 10 a.m.; staff said the boxes sell out every time.
Other items noted include a Denton County Master Gardeners talk on preserving your harvest on Oct. 29 at 6:30 p.m., a program titled 'Pirates in the American Revolution' on Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m., a spice-club pop-up Saturday from 1–3 p.m., and an in-library 'protagonist pumpkin' vote running through Oct. 30.
Library staff encouraged residents to register for programs online or in person; no cost was indicated for most events.
