At the start of the meeting Miss Ramon reviewed local food and social-service resources available to residents. She listed pantry hours and pickup locations, and said some sites offer assistance with utility bills and other social services. She also named specific organizations providing food boxes and pantry services and asked residents to call ahead when requested.
Miss Ramon told attendees that Red Bank Porch Fest is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15. She said the event is organized by neighbors ("not a city event") and will include music along London Avenue and James Avenue, multiple performances and neighborhood-hosted stages. She also encouraged residents to watch the Red Bank Chattanooga Press and city social-media channels for the final schedule.
Vice Mayor Berry and other commissioners reminded residents of upcoming leaf pickup routes and the final morning-market date of the season, and encouraged donations to local food programs. The board congratulated the Blue Lightning marching band on a division first-place finish.
