The Town of Culpeper Town Council approved several routine and procedural items during its April 2025 monthly meeting.
Consent agenda: The council approved a consent agenda that the mayor described as including a resolution supporting FY2025 grant funding for the Rappahannock-Rapidan Regional Commission, acceptance of Virginia Tourism Corporation grant funds, treasurer's reports, and minutes of previous meetings. The consent agenda was approved by voice vote.
Reappointment: Council member Short moved to reappoint Lisa Peacock to the Public Transportation Board to a new four-year term beginning immediately and expiring March 9, 2029. The council approved the reappointment by voice vote.
Kestner Wayside resolution: Council unanimously approved a resolution requesting the Virginia Department of Transportation release a dedicated right-of-way behind Kestner Wayside so the town can consider conveyance and potential land-swap options. The clerk recorded a roll-call vote with all named members voting "Aye." The resolution initiates a process with VDOT; it does not select any particular development plan.
Quarterly reports and scheduling: Council acknowledged receipt of quarterly reports. The council also set a special meeting and public hearing on the FY2026 budget for May (location: EDC Building at 7:00 p.m.).
