Council approves minutes, bills and a water-service repair for a property where the main line had been removed

Minutes: Council moved to accept the minutes of the Feb. 5, 2025 meeting. A motion was made and seconded and the council recorded the approval by voice vote.
Bills: Council reviewed accounts and a reclassification of power billing items and approved payment of bills for February (charges accrued in January). The motion was seconded and passed by voice vote.
Water repair (31 / Donovan/Floyd area): Council discussed a damaged/absent main and meter situation near a property on Canal/Center Street. The council voted to repair the main line to allow a meter set and barrel to be installed; the motion specified the town would perform the repair to the meter/set/barrel and that the resident would pay for the private service line from the meter to the house and purchase a new meter. Council recorded the motion and a voice approval. The council discussed impact-fee considerations and noted they did not plan to charge impact fees where service had previously existed and meters had been removed in prior actions.
