Donated solar panels arriving; town plans storage and seeks electrician for installation

Bluff Town Council confirmed on Jan. 7 that a donation of solar panels will be delivered the following morning and placed in donated storage until the town determines siting and electrical hookups.
Staff said the panels and delivery (including a forklift) are scheduled and that the delivery vendor quoted about $2,200 for transport. The council discussed next steps: design-review committee review of placement, an electrician to advise on required hookups and conduit, and coordination with the modular/Community Center project teams where the panels may be installed. Staff noted the panels were donated and that storage space was donated as well; a council member said she will meet the delivery crew at the unnamed drop location.
Councilors identified a need for an electrical assessment to determine how many panels can be connected to each building or system and whether spares should be retained for other town uses. The design-review committee (DRC) will be asked to recommend placement and any design or permit requirements before formal installation work begins.
