Ballston Spa trustees approve counsel retention, vehicle financing, salt purchase, administrator stipend and engineering authorization

The board voted to retain the firm identified in the agenda as Bartlett County Seward & Rose PC as village counsel under the attached legal services agreement and authorized the mayor to execute the agreement.
Trustees also approved the purchase of a fire/police vehicle for $89,180 and authorized a five‑year financing plan with annual payments of $20,527.86; the board authorized the mayor to execute related purchase and financing paperwork.
The board approved the purchase of 200 tons of rock salt from Morton Salt Incorporated at $61 per ton for the Department of Public Works.
Trustees approved a $5,000 stipend for Jennifer Moskowitz for duties described as village administrator/DPW administrator, to be paid weekly and prorated. The stipend will receive a 2.5% inflation adjustment on 06/01/2025 and again on 06/01/2026.
The board authorized an amount not to exceed $20,000 for LaBella Engineering to begin work needed to obtain Department of Health (DOH) and Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) approvals for water provision issues, noting the village is operating outside a 0.5‑mile zone for certain supply matters. The mayor said the $20,000 was a starting authorization and that additional funding could be requested in January if needed.
Finally, trustees ordered the vouchers and adjourned the meeting at 6:45 p.m.
All listed motions passed by voice vote.
