The Roseville Area School Board approved the second reading of Policy 5.76 (use of peace officers and building crisis teams to remove students with IEPs) at its Jan. 29 meeting.
Director Nesen presented the second reading. The changes were limited to clarifying language: adding the word "building" before "crisis team" to avoid confusion with district crisis teams and minor grammatical edits. No public suggestions were made at the first reading, and no substantive policy changes were introduced at the Jan. 29 meeting.
Why it matters: Policy 5.76 governs when peace officers and crisis‑response teams may be used in school settings in conjunction with students who have individualized education programs (IEPs). The edits approved were editorial and intended to reduce ambiguity in district operational procedures.
Board action: The board moved, seconded and approved the policy on a voice vote at the Jan. 29 meeting.
