District honors students across campuses and names Vista Grande teacher employee of the month
Summary
The board recognized multiple students — including Casa Grande Union’s student of the month (Asante Santilli), Vista Grande’s student of the month (Ramon Gonzales), PACE and CTE honorees — and named Vista Grande math teacher Crystal Villegas employee of the month for leadership in PLCs and student engagement.

Casa Grande Union High School recognized Asante Santilli for academic achievement, involvement in athletics and extracurricular activities and dual‑enrollment coursework. Vista Grande High School recognized Ramon Gonzales for leadership in student council, theatre (thespian club), Eagle Scout service and vocational aspirations in automotive engineering. PACE, CTE and other campus programs presented honorees: Isaac Iowane (PACE) and Alexandra Atkinson (CTE software and app design) were recognized for academic growth, leadership and participation in competitive programs.
The board also named Crystal Villegas, a Vista Grande mathematics teacher, employee of the month for leadership in professional learning communities, student engagement techniques and peer support. Principals and program staff described Villegas’s approach to student questioning, classroom interaction and PLC leadership.
These recognitions are ceremonial acknowledgements of student and staff achievement; no formal board action was required beyond the presentations.
