Landmarks Committee: The committee reviewed six applications including 465 Sixth Avenue (facade/lighting), 535 Broadway (storefront/signage), 374 McDougall Street (rooftop addition), 4817 Washington Street (storefront infills), and 53 East Tenth Street (excavation/sub-cellar). For each case the committee issued site-specific recommendations ranging from approval (with conditions) to denial (with suggested redesign), and recorded the votes as unanimous in the Landmarks report presented to the full board.
Traffic Committee: The Department of Transportation presented a micro-hub pilot for parcel redistribution. The Traffic Committee recommended the pilot proceed with conditions: stronger utilization schedules, a reservation system, no-idling rules at micro-hubs, and measures to allow multiple carriers rather than single-company monopolies at each site. The committee report recorded a unanimous recommendation in favor of the conditional pilot.
Schools Committee: The Schools Committee presented a resolution urging the New York City Department of Education to adopt a multiyear plan to meet class-size caps, accelerate school construction to alleviate overcrowding, and avoid permanent exemptions for overcrowded schools. The committee voted unanimously in favor of the resolution and forwarded it to the full board.
SLA and Cannabis: SLA committees reported votes on multiple liquor-license and sidewalk-seating applications; several items were denied unless applicants adhered to stipulations, and a number of layovers or withdrawals were noted. The Cannabis Committee reported one new retail application denied (proximity-restricted and opposed by residents) and a renewal approved.
