The Leesburg Board of Architectural Review voted to form a two-member subcommittee to review the draft zoning ordinance rewrite when the town releases it for public comment.
Staff said the draft zoning ordinance would be released for public review, likely the following week, and that a 60-day comment period will follow. The board discussed whether it wanted to prepare an official board statement or allow members to comment individually.
Judd Puto made a motion to form a subcommittee of Helen Aikman and Julie Pastor to review the zoning rewrite and provide feedback; JP Andrews seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
Staff said the subcommittee should remain two or fewer members to avoid creating a public-meeting obligation under the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and that the subcommittee could forward suggested comments or an official statement to the full board for consideration.
