Commission hears FYI on realtor sign and a public-art 'key' scavenger hunt for downtown Angola

Commission staff told the Angola City Historic Preservation Commission on Feb. 19 that a building on West Maumee Street (the Stout Law office) is for sale and that Fred Beck has proposed a new sign; the matter was provided for the commission's information only and not brought for formal review or a vote.
Staff also described a public-art project, 'Imaginale,' in which large metal keys would be installed in multiple locations as part of an interactive scavenger-hunt-style exhibit. The artist (Janelle Sloane) and project organizers have not finalized placement locations; staff said they will return with more details and will request formal presentation to the commission when sites include the historic district or building façades under the commission's purview.
Commission members asked that staff present final locations and sign dimensions before installations on buildings in the historic district. No formal action was taken on either the realtor sign or the art project at the Feb. 19 meeting.
