City seeks bids for governance center furnishings; clock, park and IT integration discussed

Staff told council the building remains on schedule for occupancy by the end of September and said some IT purchases (displays, cameras, and other technology) will be purchased through the IT budget.
Council asked whether the FF&E budget includes IT infrastructure; staff replied that some IT hardware is included while other IT line items are already budgeted under the IT department. Councilmembers raised operational questions about running meetings and whether a single operator could start/stop recordings; staff said control options are being reviewed so boards and commissions can operate consoles when needed.
Staff also discussed park phasing and the placement of a decorative clock the councilmember Vargo requested; three locations are under consideration and the clock will be ordered soon (six‑month lead time). Park elements including a flexible gathering area and potential seasonal features (such as a skating rink) are being costed and will be phased to match budget availability.
Staff asked for direction on bid solicitation and will return with recommended contract awards and final IT and installation plans.
