Recreation events, park construction and security upgrades highlighted in Prosper parks update

Recreation staff said the Prosper Fishing Derby is scheduled for Feb. 27 from 9–11 a.m. at the pond at Frontier Park. Trevor Hilton, a recreation staff member, described the event as a “free event for families,” and said staff expect between 250 and 500 participants depending on weather; he also reported approximately 2,000 rainbow trout and catfish are being stocked for the event.
