On infrastructure, staff said preliminary design plans for a pedestrian crossing on U.S. Highway 17 at Plouffe Road/Old Waterford Way are under technical review with NCDOT, and the Mallory Creek Drive sidewalk extension project is completed. Staff added that town review is under way for a public water-access design submitted by the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, and final street-resurfacing design plans that would use milling, full-depth patches, asphalt overlay and new striping were approved by town staff.
Staff concluded by inviting council questions; the council offered brief positive remarks and no substantive objections.
