According to the notice read on the floor, the petition proposes rezoning approximately one acre at 6158 West 10th Street from a D‑3 district to a C‑1 district to allow a real estate office. The clerk noted that written objections filed with the clerk will be heard at the public hearing and that the council may continue the hearing if necessary.
Following the announcement, the council approved the motion to schedule the hearing; the motion carried 25‑0. The matter will return to the council on March 3 for public comment and deliberation on whether to adopt the rezoning.
Excerpt from the announcement read on the floor: "This council will hold a public hearing on rezoning petition number 2024 ZON096, council proposal number 52 2025 at its next regular meeting on March 3, 2025. Such meeting will convene at 7 PM in these council chambers... This petition proposes to rezone 1 acre from D‑3 district to C‑1 district to provide for a real estate office. Written objections that are filed with the clerk of the council shall be heard at such time or the hearing may be continued from time to time as found necessary by the council."
