Delaware County commissioners discussed a $35,000 check received by the sheriff's office from the City of Tulsa for patrolling at Lake Eucha during the July 22 meeting. Commissioner Jake Callihan said he spoke with City of Tulsa officials, who want increased patrols and indicated a preference for a full-time deputy assigned to the lake.
After the discussion the board voted to table the motion until the July 29 meeting to allow a representative from the City of Tulsa to be present. The motion to table was made by Commissioner Jake Callihan and seconded by Commissioner David Beck; roll call was unanimous.
County Clerk Barbara Barnes advised that two agenda items later in the packet (items #15 and #16) were not needed because the District Attorney recommended proceeding with the company already selected; she did not relate this advice to the Tulsa matter.
