Carroll County honors Tammy Haines for 30 years of workforce development service

Commissioners presented a certificate of recognition Thursday to Tammy Haines for more than 30 years of service to Carroll County in workforce and employment services. Officials said Haines began as a case manager under the former JTPA program and rose to employment services supervisor.
Colleagues, including a former career center manager and Workforce staff, described Haines as a steady presence who guided thousands of residents through job loss, training and career transitions. Speakers noted that after the 2009 recession staff lined up in hallways seeking assistance and Haines's steady work helped residents and families through difficult periods.
Haines told the board she plans travel in retirement and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve. County leaders thanked her for the decades of service and wished her well.
