Coos County commissioners on July 1 approved an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) with the Oregon Health Authority to provide school‑based mental health services, with a biannual amount of $443,701.
Mike Riley, the county department head presenting the item, said the IGA covers school‑based services and the stated biannual amount is $443,701. He told the board that some districts in the county chose different service arrangements and that the county currently covers Coos Bay, North Bend and Bandon under this program.
A commissioner asked whether the county was coordinating with other districts that had chosen alternate approaches; Riley said some districts opted for different providers and the county’s agreement will not cover those districts. The board approved the IGA and authorized department head Mike Riley to sign the agreement electronically.
Motion language on the record identified the intergovernmental agreement number; the board voted in favor and the motion passed.
