Halliburton elected chair; Mavorato elected vice chair; minutes approved

At the July 9 meeting the Murfreesboro Planning Commission elected Ken Halliburton as chair and Jay Mavorato as vice chair. The commission also approved the June 18, 2025 minutes and welcomed new Commissioner Kelly Rollins.
The Murfreesboro Planning Commission on July 9 elected Ken Halliburton to serve as chair and Jay Mavorato to serve as vice chair for the coming term.
A motion to nominate Ken Halliburton for chair was made and seconded. The vote was recorded with Commissioners Abelwater, Carroll, Harris, Prince, Rollins and Wright voting aye and Halliburton abstaining from the chair vote; the motion carried.
Jay Mavorato was nominated and the commission voted aye to elect him as vice chair.
The commission also moved, seconded and approved the minutes from the June 18, 2025 Planning Commission meeting by recorded ayes. Chair Halliburton offered brief remarks acknowledging his predecessors and welcomed Commissioner Kelly Rollins to the commission. He reminded members the next planning commission meeting is scheduled for the following Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.
