Council committee forwards two nominations — planning board and golf authority — to full council

Talia Mote, a Woburn resident with professional planning experience that includes guiding clients through Boston’s Article 80 development-review process and state environmental reviews, was nominated for the Woburn Planning Board. She told the committee she intends to raise her family in Woburn and said her planning background would help the board “guide projects through permitting” and spot technical issues early.

Committee members praised Mote’s background and residency. Councilors highlighted planned local projects including the North Woburn mini-master plan and downtown traffic improvements and said they want a planning board member who understands both high-level permitting and local neighborhood impacts. The committee voted by voice to send the nomination out to pass; the full council is scheduled to vote at its next meeting.

The committee also forwarded the nomination of Thomas J. Quigley to the Woburn Golf and Ski Authority. Presenters noted Quigley’s long-term civic involvement, including Lions Club leadership and veterans’ advocacy, and described him as active in the community and experienced with the country-club/golf community. Quigley spoke briefly about his lifelong ties to Woburn and caddying at the Woburn Country Club as a youth. The committee voted by voice to send his appointment out to pass.
