Ravalli County commissioners approve residency certificate and multiple airport actions; motions pass unanimously

The Ravalli County Board of County Commissioners on July 8 approved several routine items affecting county airport operations and granted a residency certificate to Jeffrey Garrison.

The board approved a residency certification for Jeffrey Garrison after a short presentation. A motion to approve the certification was moved and seconded and carried with all present commissioners voting in the affirmative.

The board then approved two airport hangar lease renewals: Hangar 272 (tenant Kulik) and Hangar 292 (Aspen Air, Ken Weinheimer). Airport staff noted both leases had been reviewed by the airport board. Motions to approve both renewals were moved, seconded and carried unanimously.

The board approved two draft corrections to hangar leases, described in the meeting record as an update changing Hangar E91 to E69 and Hangar E389 to E379, covering leases to Rob Horlacher and Jeff Humphrey. Commissioners moved and seconded approval of the amended leases; the motions carried with unanimous affirmative votes.

Commissioners also accepted a quote from Marsh McLennan for annual airport general liability coverage. The quoted premium recorded in the meeting was $3,230, plus $323 for the terrorism coverage disclosure. The motion to accept the insurance quote was moved, seconded and approved unanimously.

Airport staff recommended awarding a small pavement and restriping contract at the airport to Affordable Asphalt Experts for a total cost of $7,800 to clean, fill cracks, apply an asphalt-based fog seal and restripe 10 parking lines and two ADA stalls. The board moved, seconded and approved the award; the record notes a county contract will be required and that Premier Paving was another bidder listed in the materials.

All recorded motions in this meeting passed with unanimous "aye" votes by the three commissioners present. No recorded motions failed or were tabled.
