Wilson County Road Commission approves superintendent report, authorizes bid for lowboy tractor

"The changes from last month to this month as we took Martin Robbins, Richard Petty, Midway 2, off of the 2 year maintenance," the superintendent said, adding that Rutledge and Wilkes Barre were placed on the two-year maintenance list. The superintendent also reported, "we've got 7.96 miles paved," and described routine patching and mowing work.
Commissioners discussed a short county segment near Hartman Crossing and annexation concerns where Mount Juliet has closed a portion of road behind the Clearview Shopping Center; staff confirmed a small section remains county responsibility. After routine questions and a motion to approve the superintendent's report, commissioners voted by voice for approval.
On equipment, the superintendent asked the commission to "let y'all ask the bill again. I want you to be off the state bill and get off the state bill" and to advertise for bids on a lowboy tractor. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the solicitation for bids; staff said the purchase may be completed in the next fiscal year.
The commission did not attach additional conditions to the motion. No formal tally by name was recorded in the minutes; the chair called for and received a voice vote of "aye."
