U.S. imposes sanctions on U.N. human rights special rapporteur Francesca Albanese, says she abused her role

"The United States is imposing sanctions on UN Human Rights Council special reporter Francesca Albanese for her abuse of her role," Tammy said, adding that in recent weeks Albanese has "also targeted US companies in an unacceptable campaign of political and economic warfare."

Legal basis cited: Tammy referenced a presidential executive order (EO 14,203) invoked by the administration as authorizing consequences including blocking of property and visa restrictions to respond to perceived ICC actions that the administration labeled as "lawfare." The spokesperson said the president declared a national emergency under that order.
