Plan commission reviews draft written findings in Southern Meadows judicial-review case

Staff presented draft written findings for the Southern Meadows preliminary-plat amendment after a petition for judicial review was filed by CINL challenging the commission's earlier decision. The staff representative said the draft findings are intended to summarize evidence and motions already in the plan commission record, not to introduce new facts, and advised that the findings become part of the record submitted to the reviewing court.

Commissioners asked for additional time to review the draft and for clarifications in the document, including the preferred spelling and first-use expansion of the acronym used by the petitioner; staff said edits could be submitted by email and that the matter could be placed on the July 15 agenda for additional review. There was no formal vote on the findings at this meeting.

The item remains open; staff recommended moving the draft forward for further review and authorized a plan commission representative to sign the final findings if the commission later approves them.
