Committee told of preliminary budget meeting dates; members urged to attend

Staff told the committee of upcoming budget-related public meetings and urged members to attend if they wish to comment on their committee's budget allocations. The chair said the town has scheduled a sunshine meeting on the preliminary budget at 6 p.m. on July 22 and a special call meeting to set the millage at 6:30 p.m. on July 29.
The committee was also told the first budget hearing is scheduled for Sept. 11 at 6:30 p.m. and the second budget hearing on Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. The chair explained that committee-level budgets are part of the full municipal budget and that reductions at the committee level reduce available funds for programming.
Members asked staff to circulate meeting notices; the chair said she would send reminders and relevant budget documents when available.
