Jefferson County commissioners approved an agreement with the ETF Institute to conduct a second citizen survey, a mailed paper survey the county described as statistically valid and stratified by commission district.
The county's Public Information Officer said the county previously conducted a similar survey in 2021 and that the new survey will repeat the district-level sampling to assess whether county services have improved. "This would be our second citizen survey," the Public Information Officer said. "It would be a written paper survey sent, and it would be a statistically valid survey with the same point from each commission district." The PIO also said the county would provide an online survey option but that online responses would be reported separately because they cannot be proven statistically valid.
Commissioners approved the agreement by voice vote. No contract number, total contract cost, or timeline for mailing and reporting results was specified during the discussion.
