County IT readies Tyler resident access, server replacements after storm damage; Vamonet replacement scheduled for Aug. 18

Brian, a county staff member working on revenue and tax systems, told the board the county is implementing new camera/software and that the replacement of Vamonet will go live on Aug. 18; he invited board members to preview the software used by neighboring Orange County.
IT staff reported recent thunderstorms damaged some UPS units and shelter cameras; warranty repairs are underway. Staff said servers for infrastructure replacement have arrived and an implementation plan is being developed with contractors Magna5 and Eastern.
IT staff described Tyler Coach onboarding courses for county employees and said the back end of a Tyler resident access payment portal is complete. Staff said they are finalizing the implementation plan for the public portal and coordinating advanced scheduling and payment workflows with public-safety teams.
No formal procurements or final implementation dates besides the Aug. 18 Vamonet replacement were approved at the meeting; staff said they will work to deploy the infrastructure with minimal disruption to services.
