State Dept. readout: 60-day Gaza ceasefire proposal circulated; $30 million GHF allocation approved but not dispersed

Tammy Bruce, State Department spokesperson, read a statement attributed to President Donald J. Trump saying Israel "has agreed to the necessary conditions to finalize the 60 day ceasefire" and that Qatar and Egypt "will deliver this final proposal." Bruce declined to disclose the proposal's operational details but urged parties to accept the deal, saying, "I hope for the good of the Middle East that Hamas takes this deal because it will not get better."

On humanitarian assistance, a reporter asked whether the $30,000,000 the department announced for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation has been dispersed. Bruce said the funding "has been fully approved" but "has not been dispersed," citing internal processes required before payments are made. She said GHF had distributed meals in a war zone and noted figures reported by the administration, saying about 56,000,000 meals had been moved to date.

Bruce repeatedly framed the broader problem as the difficulty of delivering sufficient aid into an active conflict zone and said that "it will never be enough" until hostilities stop. She described Hamas as a barrier to aid flow, alleging the group controls food distribution and in some cases diverts supplies.

On civilian casualties, Bruce expressed sorrow and condemnation for the killing of civilians in Gaza and other conflicts, saying the U.S. has "decried the killing of civilians throughout every conflict that exists." She said a durable ceasefire is necessary to enable reconstruction and more reliable aid delivery.
