ZBA approves foundation/special exception to raise lakeshore cottage on Grammys Way

Tom Bonnie, engineering representative, explained the plan to raise the year‑round cottage approximately five feet to create a fully framed foundation and to shore the lakeshore protections that already exist. The board noted that the property is served by a state‑approved septic system (1997) and that no additional septic loading is proposed. There were no abutter objections recorded.
The board found that the project would not diminish neighboring property values, would not create nuisance traffic or safety hazards, and would be consistent with the spirit and intent of the master plan. The special exception was approved unanimously; the applicant was instructed to secure required building permits and to follow any DES requirements for lakeshore work.
