Board designates Rainy Lake as official legal publication for 2025 and retains southern paper

Two bids opened on Dec. 10: Rainy Lake (no rate increase from 2024) and Area Country Chronicles (incomplete bid form and failed to demonstrate 75% household coverage in the county). Staff recommended awarding the legal publication work to Rainy Lake and continuing to publish notices in the Bexar Country Chronicles to serve the county’s southern portion.
The board approved the recommendation on a voice vote. Staff noted this approach matches past practice and aims to ensure statutory notice requirements are met across the county’s geography.
