The board reviewed several buildings and grounds items on Jan. 27, including a punchโlist issue: a third rooftop boiler on the highโschool project remains out of final setup because a control board needed a postโinstallation configuration. The company performing the mechanical work has delayed the final work, citing missing documentation for a July invoice that SSM (project manager/engineer) normally forwards for payment. Board members asked SSM and the district solicitor to resolve the paperwork. Until documentation is received and the boiler is verified operational, the board voted to table a related payment (item 95).
Separately, the board approved an agreement with Onalawney Township concerning a swale by the pump station, with revisions negotiated by the district solicitor and township counsel. The township representative said the project is scheduled to be let through PennDOT on June 25, 2025. Board members asked for continued oversight and followโup from the districtโs project manager and solicitor.
Facilities staff also reported a recent precautionary evacuation of the high school tied to a minor gas leak originating at an RTU rooftop unit; Berkshire Mechanical is inspecting rooftop units and the district will verify appliance connections and warranty coverage.
