Lakemore approves engineering contract for 2026 waterline replacement; lead service line checks to begin

During the meeting a staff speaker reported that Arcadis Engineering will begin field work the week of the meeting to pothole selected locations as part of the village’s lead service line identification program. The field work is intended to expose service lines so engineers can determine whether any service lines are lead or galvanized and to scope replacement needs.
Council and staff emphasized that residents may see field crews in the neighborhood conducting investigative potholing and that unrelated door‑to‑door solicitors should be asked for a solicitor’s permit from the Lakemore Police Department; staff said each individual solicitor must hold a permit.
