Council approves $2.78 million Westbank water‑treatment clarifier upgrade

Greg Gordon, director of the parish Department of Waterworks, told the council that the Westbank water treatment plant requires replacement of an existing rectangular solids‑contact clarifier and softener elements.
The council approved a contract with Pentel Contracting Services LLC for the Westbank D plant clarifier upgrade (project WWKS114) in the amount of $2,782,000. Gordon described the work as removal and replacement of clarifier equipment and said staff would be available to answer questions during construction.
The measure passed unanimously.
