Monticello orchestra wins Minnesota meritorious-program award; board recognizes director

Monticello’s combined middle- and high-school orchestra program received the 2025 Meritorious Orchestra Program Award from the Minnesota String Teachers Association, the district announced Nov. 3. Orchestra director Schetterstein told the board the award recognizes program quality and long-term growth; the orchestra program dates to 1999 and the director noted the district’s support for music education.
Board members thanked the director and staff for their work and encouraged families to view the district’s family newsletter highlighting the program. No board action was required beyond recognition and thanks.
