Board approves resolution transferring tax-sale properties to Department of Redevelopment

The Elkhart Board of Works approved Resolution 25-R-16 on Oct. 21 to transfer real estate from tax-sale holdings to the City of Elkhart Department of Redevelopment.
Adam Phan, assistant director of redevelopment, said the transfer is an administrative correction: some properties had been assigned directly to the city rather than to the redevelopment department after county processing. Phan said the city attorney prefers properties intended for redevelopment to be titled to the Department of Redevelopment to facilitate resale and administration.
The board approved the resolution by voice vote.
