West Allis property owner asks council to review dump access policy for landlords

Jeff Dillman identified himself as the owner of an eight-unit rental at 3300 South Walmer Road and asked the council to review policies that restrict property owners' access to the municipal dump if identifying documentation does not match an LLC name.
Dillman said he paid nearly $19,000 a year in property taxes on the building and was surprised city staff would not allow him to use the dump to dispose of a tenants furniture because his drivers license name did not match the LLC name on his vehicle or paperwork. "I could not get into the dump. They would not allow me into the dump because my LLC didn't match my driver's license," Dillman said. He said Kevin (a staff person) suggested he bring the concern to the council.
Council members and staff invited Dillman to discuss the matter during recess or otherwise follow up to clarify what documentation is required and whether rules for property owners could be adjusted. No formal action or policy change was made during the meeting.
