Missouri City’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved a batch of preliminary and final plats by motion on Oct. 8 and approved an applicant-requested 30-day extension for the Sienna Town Center Commercial Site replat, placing that item on the Nov. 12 meeting agenda.
Staff presented several plat items in a single motion, including a preliminary plat for Reserve at Sienna Ranch Road and final plats for City Rise Church (Missouri City), Regency Lake Drive Street Dedication Phase 2, Sienna Section 70-7, Sienna Section 82, bridal plat Sienna Section 84, and Sienna Lakes Drive Phase 4 at Rivermark Drive Street Dedication. The chair asked for a motion to approve the batch; a motion and second were heard and the items were approved as presented on the consent motion.
Separately, staff explained the subdivision ordinance requirement that the commission act on plats within 30 days of submittal and noted the applicant for the Sienna Town Center Commercial Site replat timely submitted a written request to extend that review period. Staff recommended approving the extension and told commissioners the replat would be placed on the Nov. 12 agenda as requested. Attorney Omar Isfar, speaking for the applicant, asked the commission to "vote to approve what I believe is the staff's recommendation to extend consideration" in order to give city attorneys and the applicant time to come to a common understanding on entitlement questions.
The motion to approve the extension was made and approved; the transcript does not provide a roll-call tally for the consent plats or the extension vote.
