Commission approves Naniyah Catholic Society parking-lot amendment with landscaping and plan conditions

The Missouri City Planning and Zoning Commission on Oct. 8 approved an amendment to a specific-use permit allowing the Naniyah Catholic Society to add approximately 0.596 acres for an accessory 69-space parking lot at 2210 Staffordshire Road.
Staff said the amendment would add the acreage immediately south of the church, behind the VFW post, and recommended approval with conditions to update the existing landscape concept and to provide planting islands during permitting. "Staff is recommending approval with condition of the application," a staff member said, noting that required landscaping buffers in the Liberty Ridge subdivision must be shown on plans. Notice was sent to property owners within 250 feet on Sept. 26; staff reported no written protests as of the meeting.
There were no public speakers; the commission closed the public hearing and approved the SUP amendment with the staff-recommended conditions. The transcript records the motion and a second but does not show a roll-call tally.
