Planning commission approves Little Wolf's Retreat boarding facility with 12-dog limit

The Muskego City Planning Commission on Oct. 7 unanimously approved a conditional use grant and site-operation amendment allowing an overnight dog-boarding facility, Little Wolf's Retreat, to operate in the vacant half of a multi-tenant building at 18461 Gemini Drive (tax key 2222984003).
Adam, city planning staff, told the commission the applicant requested a limit of 12 dogs on the premises and proposed a 6-foot privacy fence along the north side of the building to provide an outdoor exercise area. Staff described indoor sleeping kennels, an indoor relief area and outdoor fenced play space and recommended approval subject to conditions tied to those site improvements.
Staff also noted the site already houses an existing dog-daycare use in the other tenant space and characterized the proposed boarding use as compatible with the building’s current operations. No members of the public stepped forward during the hearing.
The commission approved resolution PC 0452025 as presented; the motion passed unanimously.
